Welcome to the Tool Sharpening for Wood Bowl Turning course.

I am so glad you are here because I know you understand the importance of having good sharp tools when turning wood bowls. In many ways, learning to sharpen your tools properly needs to happen before you ever approach the lathe.

We are going to cover the many aspects of sharpening your tools to make them perform at their highest potential for you as you create beautiful wood turned bowls.

In this course, you will learn to sharpen bowl gouges, scrapers, spindle detail gouges, parting tools, and carbide cutter tips. I will explain the differences and advantages of several bowl gouge bevel angles and profiles and show you exactly how to shape and sharpen each one.

This course is divided into many different sections and lessons. You can follow allow from start to finish. Or, you can jump to a particular topic that best suits your needs. Use this course to learn all the knowledge necessary for your specific needs.

The menu to the side will be your guide to navigate the many lessons throughout this course. When you finish a section, click the “Mark Complete” button to mark a section complete. Your progress will be charted by the progress bar at the top of the screen.
