Understanding Green Wood
Some of the lessons we will be covering may seem basic at first, and you may already understand them. That’s great. But we will be taking a deeper look, and there will be lessons that will challenge your current skill sets and your thinking. This challenge will help you push yourself to make better bowls.
Establishing routines and habits can be beneficial. However, if those habits interfere with your results, then you need to challenge your thinking and go beyond the routine and ordinary. That’s what this course is designed to help you achieve.
We will cover many issues and concerns wood bowl turners encounter and address each in detail. Most of these issues may seem subtle and unimportant. Once you see how improving, or just being aware of these issues, changes your overall bowl creation process, you will see massive improvements in your final turned bowls.
We will drill down to particular skills and techniques that will include tool use and various stages of the bowl turning process, but again, this is a more advanced course, and you need to have those basic skills understood before using this course.
There are habits, even pitfalls and roadblocks, we all struggle with while turning. It’s a natural part of turning, and we ALL encounter these. Without stepping back and seeing these moments and adjusting for them, we could easily get stuck and even think about quitting.
Let’s not let that happen.
Not only will we learn about these struggles, but we will also acquire techniques and skills to overcome them and prevent them from recurring in the future.
These changes will affect not only simple procedures in your turning routine, but also make significant improvements to the overall look and shapes of your bowls.
This course is super exciting, and I can’t wait for you to have all these essential tools in your tool belt.
